My work seeks to explore our perception of the fungal kingdom through a desire to create dialogue around a speculative (Mycocenic) future, in which we become companion species.
Through detailed observations of fungal species and our human interactions with the natural environment the resulting soft pastel, and pastel pencil, artworks include softly rendered representations of fungal forms and their depiction within woodland ecosystems. Beyond that complex and often confusing imagery seeks to blur the boundaries between nature and our human bodies.
