I make contemporary semi abstract paintings and try to catch something of the beauty, I feel being out in nature. Through layers of subtle, blended, translucent colour, bold brushstrokes and impasto palette knife work.
I try to represent in oils the light, beauty and raw energy of a place, but also the feeling and energy a place can evoke in us all, how we connect on a deeper, emotional level to our natural environment. I hope that others will recognise something of that connection in my work.
