Dawn creates hand embossed copper pictures inspired by themes and patterns in nature. Organic forms such as leaves, birds and insects take advantage of the qualities of the materials used, the more texture and pattern on the metal, creates increased reflection of light and colour on the surface.
Experiments with paint, enamels, gilding and heat treatments also give colour and contrast to the pieces and the use of flame on the copper create exciting unique rainbow patina which is unpredictable and often very beautiful.
