Travel and Parking

By Road

Belper is situated 8 miles north of Derby and is set in the valley of the River Derwent. Please see the location of Belper on the map. The A6 from Derby to Matlock is the major road and runs straight through the middle of the town running parallel to the River Derwent.

By Rail

Belper railway station is situated on the Midland Main Line. Regular trains between Derby and Matlock on the Derwent Valley Line stop at Belper. You can take a look at the Derwent Valley Line timetable or you can also take a look at the East Midland Trains website.

By Bus

The town is served by regular bus services to Derby and surrounding towns and villages as well as longer routes to Manchester and London. The major operator is Trent Barton who operate the bus garage on Bridge Street. If you live locally you can hop on to one of The Sixes to Belper or if you live a bit further you can take a look at the Trent Barton website to plan your route by bus.

Car Parking

Just one quick note if you are coming by car into Belper, there are quite a few car parks. Two free car parks are The Coppice on the Market Place and the other free one is on Derwent Street. The others are all pay and display car parks. You can find all the car parks on this map.
