Sarah Stanton Longdon

Photography has been a constant in my life and creative processes. Photographing ways to show, describe and document. Looking for opportunities in a scene, effects of changing light and documenting life and events.

Graduated from Derby University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design.
Composition, meaning and visual message are important to me as elements of my photographic style.

Derbyshire’s beautiful landscape and industrial history is inspirational for photographers & artist. I’m interested in relics from its past, ‘marks’ on the landscape, interaction between human imprint and nature.
My images are often about the Chevin Milford, photographing it’s landscape, trees, dramatic sun rises & sunsets, for many years.

The Belper Arts Festival is a perfect opportunity to exhibit my images, in the environment in which I found them.

My work has been in exhibitions at The Quad Derby, Derby University’s Nature connected exhibition, chosen for Derby Cathedral’s post cards.
Selected for TogsQuad’s exhibition, during Format 15 International Photography Festival.
An article about my photography was recently published in The Derbyshire Magazine.
My work is regularly published in Derby Telegraph’s as part of TogsQuad’s set themes and occasionally used to illustrate stories and features.
