Sarah will spend hours reading, listening to podcasts, and researching the original story to tell through her paintings.
She particularly likes any stories that involve animals, mythical creatures, or fantastical natural places that she can include in her work.
Sarah’s starting points for a painting can begin anywhere from watching a Disney film (and then finding the original, accurate text), to travelling the world and finding more cultural lore. She finds cultural lore particularly fascinating, especially when she learns of eye witness accounts for some of the legendary stories.
Sarah also works on a lot of custom-made paintings, from portraits of people and pets, to landscapes of favourite places. She endeavours to inject the personality of the painting’s owner into the image, and therefore works closely with all her clients. Sarah loves doing commissions, so feel free to ask her.
At heart though, Sarah is just a big romantic, and would love for a real Big Foot to lumber through the door and sit for her. In the meantime, lore and imagination will do to inspire her new paintings.
