The Arts Trail

2018 will see the 5th Belper Arts Trail and will build on the success of this years event.

We have had loads of positive feedback and some great improvement opportunities which we are putting in place.

So 2018 will see more artists, more venues, more music, more happening on the streets between venues and more food venues.

We are just thinking about various other events throughout the year.
There will certainly be a christmas event featuring arts trail artists, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Come along and see Belper at it’s creative best.

Next year the Belper Arts Festival will be in its 6th year.
The festival is growing and has already made its mark on Derbyshire’s cultural calendar.

With Belper and Derbyshire overflowing with artistic talent we felt Belper really needed an interactive trail of creativity which we are aiming to grow each year to be a key Derbyshire event.

We also work closely with Belper Town Council and Amber Valley Borough Council to make the streets of Belper more vibrant and colourful in the run up to the Arts Festival.

About Us

The Trail is an artist led initiative which aims for artists to exhibit and promote their work. It began in 2014 when two artists wanted to help strengthen the local artistic community and to find interesting and creative solutions to the lack of dedicated space in Belper for artists to exhibit. Utilising every possible space as a venue. Art can now be found in a variety of unusual spaces.

Our Vision

The Belper Arts Trail has been established to help promote the growth of local artists, engage with the community and enhance Belper's reputation as a beautiful place to visit. Through this our aim is to contribute to the local economy and build community spirit.

Inclusivity, Not Exclusivity

Thank you to JJ Beardsley, Jim Bell, Geraldine Curtis, Tony Fisher, Rachel Ormsby-Ashworth and all the exhibiting artists and makers for the use of their photographs on this website.
